2017年9月20日，《鲁豫有约大咖一日行》的第三季第四期，就播出了段奕宏谈及拒演《可可西里》的独家访谈。在那场对话中，鲁豫询问了段奕宏关于这一决定的心理过程，他回应说：“如果我演了，那就不配拥有北京户口。”
段奕宏是经过三年努力考上的中国戏剧学院（中戏）的毕业生，他大学四年的时间都未能参与任何拍摄。1988年毕业时，他既没有留校工作，也没有北京户口，这让他感到十分挣扎。他甚至直接向学校领导提出：“像我这样优秀的毕业生，为何无人留京？”
幸运地，在国家话剧院的录取后，segment finally obtained the coveted Beijing hukou. He cherished his position and loved the world of theatre, content to stay at the National Theatre for ten years, honing his craft.
It wasn’t until 1999, eleven years after graduation, that he made his breakthrough with a role in "The Original" as a hitman. However, when offers from "The West Lake", "Drinking Under Spring Breeze", and "Yiheyuan" came knocking on his door, he turned them down.
Segment's reasons for refusing these roles were twofold: financial stability and fame. Though he lacked both of these things at the time, he was deeply grateful to the National Theatre for accepting him and providing him with a Beijing hukou. As long as there were assignments from the theatre company, all other work opportunities would be pushed aside by Segment.
Seven years later, in 2006, Segment starred in "Soldier's Advance" as Yuan Lang once again gaining overnight fame. Roles in films like “White Deer Plain” and “Scorching Sun” further increased his exposure.
In addition to being an actor who loves to act less often than others - even using eye language alone can make it difficult to hide one's brilliance - Segment is also known for being low-key yet talented. It has been reported that he will soon star in another film titled “Longtoushan Bridge”, so we look forward to its release!
